The last week of the season has finally arrived and still only light South-Easterly trade winds. As if to taunt us that the season has closed too soon the fish turned up in a magnificent fashion. We had 8 anglers this ultimate week and between them they landed 558 Bonefish, which equates to 70 fish per angler. The great neap tide conditions made for perfect tailing Bonefish water levels on the massive white sand flats of St Francois. To add to the excitement some of the teams went offshore in an attempt to catch a “Bills & Bones”. It doesn’t get any better with Piers Westerman and Meredith McCord both landing Sailfish and Bonefish during the same session to celebrate another 2 magnificent achievements for the season. Attention then drastically changed to the big blue predators that arrived in a fashion that left anglers both mortified and ecstatic. The enormous GT’s reeked havoc on tackle but for once our anglers came out on top. Tom Collins managed to hook up and land a huge GT of 116cm which was part of a double hook up as Steven Arch landed his first ever GT of 120 cm. David Lytle managed his first GT on fly with an impressive 105 cm fish. What a way to end a magnificent 30 weeks out at Alphonse.
Tight lines and Best Regards from Keith, Devan and the Alphonse Fishing Co team. Until next season!
