A slower week GT wise for the team but Astove still produced a fantastic variety of other species like Triggers, Bonefish, Saddle-Back Grouper, Swallow-tail Grouper and Wahoo. 30 GTs were landed with 3 breaking the 100cm mark, which is a relatively low number by Astove standards but definitely still up there with the best. Dean Post had a fairy tale start to his week by landing his first ever GT over 100cm measuring 102cm (72lbs), which was caught inside the lagoon on the first morning. He also went onto land several other GTs, Bluefin and numerous Bonefish. Peter Whitaker and Paul Andrews also had a good week by wrapping up several GTs each as well as landing some very impressive Saddleback Groupers and a Moustache Triggerfish. Chantal Chone, was dubbed the angler of the week when she landed a GT of a life time measuring 117cm (75lb) and went further by ending her week with a “Flats Grand Slam” comprising of a GT, Triggerfish and a Bonefish.
Tight lines from the Astove team.
