First day with my guests Andy and Will on the river Bistra. We spent a few hours on the river and caught some very nice graylings and brownies ... Not bad for the first day! ;)
Bistra and Ljubija river (Angling Club Vrhnika)
The rivers Bistra and Ljubija slowly meander through the outskirts of the Ljubljana Marshes up to their outflow into the Ljubljanica. They are typical karst rivers with crystal clear water which is slowly flowing from bend to bend. The Ljubija springs in Verd (Vrhnika), while the Bistra originates in the city next to the famous Carthusian monastery. Despite the short riverbed the fishermen consider them real hidden jewels. Due to the configuration of the channel, the fish are in excellent condition to grow to trophy size. The both rivers are dominated by beautiful brown trouts, graylings and rare wild rainbow trouts.
