Current Conditions
The fly fishing on the Eagle has been excellent as the unseasonably warm weather continues. We have even seen fish rising on most days as midge hatches intensify. The hatches now consist mainly of midges but BWO nymphs are becoming increasingly effective. Small nymphs and emergers trailing an egg pattern fished deep have been the ticket for big fish. Late morning through late afternoon is when fish are feeding.
Pressure on the Eagle is light and winter is the time for wade fishermen to target bigger fish that were unreachable during higher water flows of summer. Try the Eagle in the town of Avon or Wolcott. The Eagle may become muddy below Milk Creek west of Wolcott.
