It's a great attractor/terrestrial pattern and works great as an indicator too. I use the monofilament loops for a fully adjustable indicator a la Mikey Wier's "Hopicator". I've had success with this pattern in Pink, Black, Tan, and a Black & Tan combo (Black strip on top, tan on bottom). Simple, but effective. *Disclaimer* I know I didn't invent this fly, just thought you'd be interested in how I rig the mono loops and tie the pattern.www.kidderfishing.blogspot.com

Pasos
Paso 1
Lay down a thread base and attach the monofilament, leaving long enough tags on both ends to form loops.
Paso 2
Attach tag ends to form loops. I usually add some super glue for added strength.
Paso 3
Tie in two 1/4" strips of foam (one then the other) just above the barb of the hook.
Paso 4
Attach rubber legs (about 1" long) to both sides of fly and indicator foam on top. All of this is still above the barb of the hook.
Paso 5
Pull back top strip of foam and make segmentations in bottom strip. This helps to break up the footprint of the fly as well as help to bind the foam securely to the hook. Stop your segmentations about one hook eye length back from the eye.
Paso 6
Bring top foam strip forward and attach. Then add legs to each side and the indicator foam on top.
Paso 7
Trim the foam strips and the indicator foam.
Paso 8
Trim the corners of the foam strip. Whip finish and you're done.
Paso 9
An easy pattern to churn out! Hopefully you'll find success with it.
