After my visit to a friend in the south of Norway, I drove on to Koppang Camping. My third visit to Norway, but first to go fly fishing alone as well. And cozy log cabin discussed for 6 nights. Brought a lot myself, but with two supermarkets nearby, eating and drinking was no problem.
Hospitably received by Edin and Diana. After furnishing my cabin, I fished the next day in the immediate vicinity of the campsite. What a fantastic environment. Overwhelming if you just came from Denmark or even southern Norway. Unfortunately nothing caught, but in the afternoon Edwin would guide me to a beautiful spot. Later on I went fishing alone again and caught five grayling of a good size. Soon I called Edwin the fish whisperer. He knew exactly the right spots where I caught good. He could "read" the river and taught me a lot about river fly fishing. In the meantime he has also given me tips on how to cast better and on how to use the dry flies. Part of Erwin's guiding was making coffee on a home-made campfire. Very tasty and as a coffee lover a great break from fly fishing in this beautiful area. De-stressing a busy job in education has been very successful thanks to Edwin and Diana. There were few Dutch people at the campsite at that time and few fellow fly fishermen due to all the corona rules in Norway, but this was very nicely taken care of by Edwin and Diana. Fishing alone was initially a barrier, but later turned out to be such a special experience in this environment. Definitely recommended and despite the special corona time I had a great fly fishing holiday. Thank you Edwin and Diana from Koppang Camping!

I have been exploring the Glomma River on my own for several years, but an afternoon spent under Edward's care is a completely unique experience. The fact that as a guide knows where to look for fish is probably obvious, but Edward is also a great instructor and advisor. Patient, he can explain and learn fishing techniques. As a bonus, effective flies :-)

Edward knows the river Glomma - and he can teach, to "read the water". He provides some unseful tipps to improve casting. And he knows, how to cook a real good coffee ;)

Good guide and his teaching skills are very good.
When you are open to changing your technique he will instantly let you catch more fish.
Highly recommended.

Ed is such a great guide! He leaded us to a beautiful place with a tons of nice graylings. In addition, he is not a "here is the place, do what you want" kind of guide: he helped me to do my technic better and as an absolut beginner fly fisherman, I was given several useful tips and tricks. If you want to see the spots around Koppang you would never find by yourself, with fish-catching-guarantee, then Edward is your man! Very honest, calm and patient, even for amateurs. It's not only guidance with a lot of knowledge, it's an adventure. We stayed on the campsite for a week, which is also highly recommended. Will definitely come back!

Had a great time fishing with Edward and staying at the campground. High water river conditions made fishing very difficult and I did not expect to catch a fish. Edward found the fish! I was very excited to catch my 1st grayling. I caught trout as well. Hoping to return when river conditions are more favorable. Edward is a great guy.

We visited Koppang for a long weekend with a mixed group of experienced fly fishers and beginners. Edward took us for a half day instruction and showed us some great spots at the Glomma river for greyling and trout. He also went out of his way to help us with missing equipment issues. Everything from the lodging, to the scenery and the fishing was outstanding. Will definitely be back.

Edward is a highly skilled guide. He "smells" fish. Knows the river and reads it very well too. Lets you catch fish in every circumstance. Highly recommended!

Der Inhaber des Campingplatzes macht auch das Fischguiding. Er ist ein sehr erfahrener Guide, welcher einen zuverlässig an die entsprechenden Fischspots führt. Herr Scholten kann sich hervorragend auf die Gäste einstellen vom Anfänger bis zum Experten. Das Fliegenbinden ist seine Leidenschaft. Zusammen mit seiner Frau bieten sie einen excellenten Service und sorgen dafür, dass sich die Gäste wohlfühlen.
