Matt Dort is a registered Sport Fishing Guide and has 30 years of fly fishing experience for Atlantic Salmon and Trout. More importantly, he is someone who is very passionate about the sport and commits a lot of his time toward conservation initiatives and projects. Fishing is his passion and his experience is diverse: from night time Brown Trout fishing to Sea Run Brookies, to estuary Striped Bass and the King of them all; the majestic Atlantic Salmon. Most of all he just enjoys being on the river guiding and fishing.
Matt also represents the premier Fly Fishing Brands in the world. He is the SAGE Elite Pro, Fishpond Pro, and RIO Ambassador.
The Sport Fishing Season
The Sport Fishing season opens on April 1st and continues until October 31th. The first run of Trout begin entering o Ver más...ur rivers in early April and runs will continue well into late October. You will have the option to fish multiple rivers that are 15-45 minutes from Pictou Lodge and the possibility to fish multiple species depending on the time of year.
