The Kola Peninsula is the world’s last great stronghold of wild Atlantic salmon, and the rivers of the Kola Reserve are the freshest addition to the big names of the north coast, which maintains a deserved reputation of being home to some of the largest Atlantics in the world. The Kola Reserve is comprised of 2 rivers in this wild landscape, the Lumbovka and the Kachkovka, each unique and offering diverse angling opportunities throughout the week.
The Kola Reserve is extremely remote, making the luxurious lodge you will find in this wilderness setting even more amazing. The lodge itself was originally designed in Finland and all of the materials collected there and then imported to Russia. The Lodge was then masterfully constructed on the banks of the Lumbovka. The lodge is within a goo

Each angler’s personal room has its own showers and toilet and each room has spacious queen sized beds to stretch out on. The duplex cabins have a shared entrance with a covered porch and an indoor shared wader room for hanging and drying waders and whatever else you need to hang. These are some of the most comfortable accommodations you will find in any fishing camp on Earth. There are 4 of these duplex cabins to house 10 anglers, roughly arranged in a circle.
The main lodge building is where everyone can come together to relax after a long day on the water with a cocktail, and enjoy meals together. Dinner and breakfast are served in the dining room that looks out over the river. Enjoy a cocktail at the bar while waiting for dinner to be served. A fly-tying bench is available in the event guests wish to add to their collection of patterns or try something new. There's plenty of comfortable seating to relax in while you discuss the days fishing with friends.
To refresh and rejuvenate a tired body, there is a traditional Russian banya (Russian sauna) every evening. This is real treat that you will want to make sure you take advantage of. Laundry service is available if you need it in a pinch.
We aim to align our hight-end fishing experience with a homelike camp, to guarantee a enjoyable fishing holiday.
Species
Atlantic salmon, Sea-Trout
Being in the private hands since 2008, Kola reserve rivers were guarded and un-fished to build up a large an recurring population of Atlantic Salmon and sea trout - this is where we derive our name from. On the other hand, we don't have historical data, so we cannot provide guidance about the catch statistics. Data from 2019 scouting mission can be provided upon request.
We aim to provide our clients with a traditional fly fishing experience, yet offer exciting modern technologies to read the river structures. Complete ownership of the rivers, gives our clients privacy to fish along entire streams.
Fishing programs are constructed to give every client a complete experience of our rich variety of pools, streams and landscapes. Robinsons 66 will be used to navigate the fishery.
Our Lumbo View more...vka camp is positioned so that both Barents and white sea salmon populations enter our rivers, allowing for a longer fishing season and higher annual throughput for similar sized rivers.
Lumbovka:
Stretching for 60km, the river hosts our central camp, in the lower section, 15km from the estuary. Lumbovka offers a lot of angling spaces, with pools averaging 30m in width and accessible walking landscape, making it suitable for different skill levels. Geographic location between White and Barents seas, qualifies Kola Reserve for both summer and fall salmon and sea trout fishing.
To scout the river, we have applied infrared drone imaging, yielding in accurate mapping of the pools, witch we will share with our guests upon request.
Kachkovka:
Fishing in the Kachkovka is integrated into the main program and is done by daily trips for 3 or 4 rods, as part of the rotation. Shaped by the topography of the river, due to the narrow and twisty stream, so far the Salmon caught here tends to be smaller than on Lumbvovka, supposedly to maintain its nimbleness. For transportation from the central camp (42 km away) and along sections of Kachkovka, we use helicopters.
Being the most southern river of the Kola Reserve, Kachkovka is catered for the autumn run. In the scouting mission towards the end of September we have validated the Osenkas run as we've caught fresh Salmon running up the stream.
